Do you wish to get along with everyone; wish to be admired by all? My dog has mastered this art, and after studying his technique, I write this knowing that I will break all the rules as my dog sees them. To have an opinion and express it; means you'll in deed be at odds with other opinions.

With this said, life is short, and I have little need to be liked by all people, or to like all of them.

It's Saturday morning and the sun is out and bright, so this will be short.

The internet and those who post provide everything from valuable data, to extreme bias, and thoughtless comments. I have read in forums that all Chinese engines are junk, all Indian engines are junk, all Indian parts are junk, and more. Those countries are pretty big; and you might find that the things you think are top quality were either made in these countries or a good part of the assembly was! I think you can find it all in these countries, really good stuff and junk.

One of my favorite series of posts in a forum was written by a younger man who determined that the British had the camshaft all wrong in the Lister CS! Imagine; they built this engine and sold it for about 75 years and never figured out how wrong their cam grind was! Stupid British people anyway.. Amazing what an young American Kid, and some software bought on the internet can determine :-)

It is a fact that QC is not where it needs to be in a good many Indian assembly lines, and this is particularly true of Indian slow speed engines. When we get to this specific topic, we must consider the alternatives? Maybe you'll buy a collectors item and pay the price?

I have seen people post on their web pages recommendations to buy from certain individuals; when they have no personal knowledge of the person. What might be even worse, they also have no first hand knowledge of the engines they sell or the quality delivered.

There is one site that suggests that they are as big as General motors, and that they have a history nearly as long. Thoughtful people might ask them:

"Where did that container of engines go that you claimed to sell into New Zealand or Austrailia?". How many engines have you really sold? do you have a satisfied customer list?  When you get a BS answer; you might ask yourself   what else is BS?

As we learn, you can ask double the going price and say your Indian Made engines are perfect in every way, but it is a far different thing to deliver on that promise.

Other things I find humorous. A guy buys something, takes it out of the box, posts pictures of his purchase somewhere and claims he received good service and that the piece is high quality. I pay more attention to posts from folks that have run something for 2000 or more hours before they make the  statement, and they are posting about good support of the product, not good service in getting the box to their door.

It's always wise to ask: So just how long have you actually run that engine or Gen Set? I will never forget the WEBSITE that advertised "these are not Chinese made Gen heads!". What he didn't say was they were made in India! Funny thing, I was back to his site, and now he's selling Chinese made GEN heads. Makes a guy wonder why he dumped that brand he was claiming was superior last week?

Time to go out and get some sun, let's hope my dog doesn't discover I posted this, he would certainly be disappointed, but he'll love me just the same. As I told Jack Belk once, some of my best friends are dogs.
