This engine and generator combination would be on the top of Mad Max’s list, This is the stuff preppers dream of owning..
I have sold only a few hand built Lister 6/1 Gen sets during the last 15 years, and one of them is owned by Jerry Bartlett (not so crazy jerry of changzuki fame) in upper state New York. Basically, I hand selected customers for these units. All of them have DIYer skills, and naturally have respect for open flywheels and moving parts, that’s A MUST!
See that valve cover? It’s solid bronze and not for sale.. This was made by Dave Clough who works for Valley Bronze in Oregon. A stock valve cover comes with the machine. This gen set comes with spares..
As for an out of town buyer. I’ll load it, it could be strapped to an open pallet.. all at added cost. write me.. george (at) utterpower.com
Utterpower PMGs fetch $1000 with drive Pulley IF you can find them. Thsi one is new out of the box..

Nice… I wish I could afford it…. George your video from you tube is set to private. It cant be viewed….
I’ll change that.. it’s an audio description..
What’s the price? (if it’s in the video, I can’t tell, because I’m having issues getting YouTube videos to work on my machine)
Flint, see other comment
How can I get in touch with you regarding
this listgen
Matt, I emailed the first responder to this post, and he has a down payment on the unit. I might have asked for a best offer.. but just didn’t want to this time… the offer came from right here in Seattle, a good match I think. I want your ideas, If I put another machine up, what is the best way to do it? Best offer?
George, You did the right thing. Sadly I’ve been trying to get in touch with you and have not been able to. I tried the contact form and direct email to george-at-utterpower. Looks like fate was against me this time.
Matt, you were close to the first responder.
Sorry folks, I am a green pea, as per you tube videos.. I’ll mark this video public so it shows up here as live.. don’t laugh, this is one of my first recordings. I’m in no way ah, public, ah speaker.. I will call folks in order I received them..
George, I had similar problem viewing, but is playing fine now…You have nothing to be embarrassed about, good delivery, accurately described, kudos 🙂
Doug, you are always able to overlook other people’s shorts.. Thanks!
Hello George,
Is there a waiting list on these? I would like to be included. I am located in Puerto Rico and have been closely monitoring your future offers for the PMGs. If this comes fully assembled including a Lister 6/1, much better. Please let me know. Thanks.
George!!
(What a gorgeous valve cover!)
I just saw this write-up of your Listgen-PMG and it looks A1!
If anyone is just discovering Utterpower you will over time enjoy George’s write-ups (and especially the rants!!) Many moons ago back when I contacted George about the 6/1 similar to the one above, I stayed up many nights running numbers on cost, maintenance and anything else associated with this type of purchase..
(That is really a gorgeous valve cover!)
Only after the monster made it from Washington to NY did I realize that something a bit more than just a Listgen arrived. George certainly put a lot of time and heart into that 6/1 and it stands today as it did then. I’ve dollied it up a bit and hug it everyday.
(Hot damn that is a gorgeous valve cover!)
Anyway, that Listgen above has Utterpower written all over it and will make someone a great addition to their homestead!
P.S. Great job on the video George!
Also, I’ve included a link to the Utterpower listgen shortly after I got it inside the house.. The pic is full screen to show how all the nice little bronze accents would compliment a solid bronze valve cover.

Have a great day!!!

Jerry,
Thanks for your post, here’s hoping life is good up in Upper State!
Jerry.. did you see the valve cover????? 🙂
This was made by Dave Clough of Valley Bronze, he lives in a small town in Oregon..

I can’t imagine a more beautify place. He’s been off grid for years, and makes power with wind, hydro and the Lister 6/1 CS 🙂
I’ll ask Dave if he plans on making any more valve covers, yes it is a nice bronze casting 🙂
BTW, for those of you who have not visited “not so crazy Jerry’s” site, it’s a must 🙂
All the best!
George
